Automotive connectors are connection devices specially designed for the harsh operating environments of automobiles. As the nerve nodes of on-board electronic systems, they build bridges at circuit interruptions to achieve stable transmission of power and signals, ensuring vehicle performance, reliability and safety. Adapted to working conditions such as high temperature, vibration and electromagnetic interference, they are classified into three categories: low-voltage, high-voltage and high-speed. A high-end electric vehicle uses more than 3,000 automotive connectors, which are widely applied in power, body, safety and other systems.
When selecting a supplier, it is necessary to comprehensively evaluate its core capabilities: possessing automotive-grade certifications such as IATF16949, having independent R&D and mold design capabilities to provide customized solutions; owning large-scale production and quality control systems to ensure stable delivery; and offering complete technical support and after-sales service to reduce the whole-life cycle cost.
The price is affected by multiple factors: in terms of materials, copper and precious metal plating account for the major part of the cost, and the high copper price drives up the overall price; technically, high-voltage and high-speed connectors have higher value, with the single-vehicle value of connectors for new energy vehicles reaching 3,000-5,000 RMB, far exceeding that of traditional fuel vehicles; in terms of brands and channels, international brands have a high premium, while domestic manufacturers feature outstanding cost performance, and direct procurement brings greater cost advantages.
